Phillips Foundation Awards $1.5 Million Grant to Downtown Greenway

GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 21, 2015) — The Phillips Foundation has awarded a $1.5 million grant to the Downtown Greenway, giving the foundation naming rights to a section of the recreational path now being developed around center city.

Kimley-Horn and Associates in Raleigh has received the design contract for the section, which will follow railroad tracks from Spring Garden Street to Smith Street, then extend to the end of the Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway at Markland Street, behind the Target shopping center, project manager Dabney Sanders said.
