Phillips Foundation Launches Impact Investing Think Tank™ Online

Digital destination for relevant content on the topic of impact investing goes live at 2019 Winter Innovation Summit

SALT LAKE CITY, UT. (Feb. 6, 2019) – Phillips Foundation, a private family foundation and catalytic capital platform, today launched its website, a digital destination for the Foundation’s Impact Investing Think Tank™ (IITT) program. The site launch was announced at the Sorenson Impact Center’s 2019 Winter Innovation Summit, a gathering of more than 800 investors, social entrepreneurs, and nonprofit and foundation leaders convening to share insights regarding social impact, innovation and investing.

IITT launched as an original program of the Phillips Foundation in 2016 with a mission of Unleashing More Capital for Good. Since then, the program has convened thousands of investors, philanthropists, social entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders from around the country in North Carolina and the Southeastern U.S. to understand trends and opportunities in the growing field of impact investing. This year, IITT will expand its footprint by debuting a speaker series in Dallas, Texas. Going online provides the IITT audience relevant content on the space in real time and outside of live events.

The comprehensive online resource is designed for those new to impact investing and seasoned practitioners alike.  The site – which will be updated frequently by Impact Fellows – includes a downloadable “Glossary of Terms” as well as curated collections of the latest industry research, news articles, investor tools and more. In addition, the site features a real-world example of values-aligned investing by sharing a snapshot of Phillips Foundation’s endowment investments, which align thematically with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Our impact investing journey has been paved by the pioneering efforts of many other innovative organizations and investors,” said Elizabeth Phillips, executive director of Phillips Foundation. “With this in mind, we feel called to help educate and inspire the next generation of impact investors, which is why we launched this curated web site through our Impact Investing Think Tank™ program.”
