Downtown Campus Gets $1M from Foundation

GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 15, 2014) — The Union Square Campus will get $1 million from a local foundation.

The Phillips Foundation announced today it will give the money to the project. The first campus building is scheduled to open in fall 2016.

The campus at South Elm and East Lee streets will focus on nursing and health care education. Cone Health, GTCC, N.C. A&T and UNCG are expected to be its first tenants.

“This initiative fits the Phillips Foundation’s mission of making strategic investments in transformational, game-changer opportunities for Greensboro, and we are proud to be an early advocate for the project,” said Elizabeth Phillips, the foundation’s executive director.
