GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 15, 2014) — The Phillips Foundation has pledged $1 million to the Union Square Campus in downtown Greensboro.

The pledge will support design and construction of the campus’ first facility, a collaborative 103,000-square-foot building to be shared by UNC-Greensboro, N.C. A&T State University, Guilford Technical Community College and Cone Health for health care profession training and education.

“The Union Square Campus at South Elm will advance healthcare and nursing programs for several of Greensboro’s outstanding higher education institutions while dramatically enhancing that end of our downtown and spurring economic development,” said Elizabeth Phillips, the foundation’s executive director. “This initiative fits the Phillips Foundation’s mission of making strategic investments in transformational, game-changer opportunities for Greensboro.”
